Timeline: Post Resident Evil Zero, after she entered the mansion and fell asleep in the room, but before Chris or Richard found her (ie, before all the insanity in the mansion and before she was shot by Wesker. So, yes, she still trusts him).

Personality: First off, Rebecca Chambers is very intelligent. Graduating college at 18 takes more than your average brain. She is an expert in chemistry and medicine, making her invaluable as a medic. However, her inexperience causes her to make mistakes in the field.

She’s also the youngest and newest member of the S.T.A.R.S. Special Forces team of the Raccoon City Police Department and somewhat nervous around her teammates. So she’s very eager to please and even more eager to prove herself. This eagerness drives her to accept missions without hesitation, despite the potential danger. Even when terrified out of her wits she tries to act tough and hide her fear.

She can be slow to trust at first, being uncertain and nervous about what’s right and wrong, but once she puts her trust in someone she is completely loyal to them. She puts her career on the line and disobeys a direct command in order to rescue the convict, Billy Coen who was actually innocent of the crime he had been charged with, and then sets him free, taking his dog tags so that he can start a new life.

Powers & Abilities: Being an ordinary human she has no special powers or abilities. However, being an 18-year-old college graduate does mean that she’s highly intelligent especially when it comes to medicine. She also knows how to use a handgun, although her aim can be a little questionable at times.

What items will they be bringing with them? Rebecca’s a medic, so essential medical field supplies like bandages as well as the bizarrely efficient health sprays and herbs found in Resident Evil and a handgun.

Third-Person Sample:
The first thing that Rebecca noticed upon waking up was that it was cold. The second was that she was most certainly not in the mansion anymore. The third was that she was scared. The last wasn’t very surprising, though. She’d been in an almost constant state of terror since the helicopter had crashed. It was no small wonder that she had dozed off in the little room while waiting for the Alpha team to arrive. The only moment without absolute horror had been saying goodbye to Billy…

Billy…. She clutched the dog tags for support. She wished he could be here with her. He always knew what to do. But no, it was better that he wasn’t. It was better that he was safe. If he were here he’d tell her to be strong and to not be afraid.

Well, not exactly, but she liked to think that the Billy in her head would tell her that.

“Okay, Chambers,” she said aloud to herself and the empty air. “Best thing to do in this sort of situation is to think rationally.”

She started going through the mental checklist she had been trained about for when one finds oneself in an unknown situation (at the time this had seemed like a very strange thing to have a checklist for, but after all that had just happened, nothing seemed strange anymore).

1. Check your surroundings. Dark, dismal, but clear of any immediate danger, at least at the moment.
2. Check yourself. A few bumps and bruises, but nothing too terrible.
3. Check your supplies. She checked her various pouches and found two health sprays, a handful of herbs and some herb seeds, a basic first aid kit with bandages, scissors, alcohol wipes, and tape, her handgun, a single set of extra rounds, and her walkie-talkie.

Oh! Maybe the Alpha team was nearby! …Or anybody…

She gripped Billy’s dog tags tighter and lifted the little device to her mouth.

“Hello? Is anyone out there? This is Officer Rebecca Chambers of the S.T.A.R.S. Bravo Team of the Raccoon City Police Department. I’m unsure of my location or my situation. If there is anyone in range, please respond.”

It was a long shot, she knew, but she had to try something at least.




First-Person Sample:

[The video sits haphazardly as if set on a counter and forgotten about.  Rebecca crouches on the floor with her back to the camera, hunched over a line of makeshift pots, glass jars, broken cups, and the like, carefully tending to small sprouts that have pushed their way through the coarse soil.  Light filters in from dirty windows and mysterious bullet holes in the wall.  She makes quick notes on a pad of paper as she checks the growth of each plant.  When satisfied with her findings she wipes a hand across her forehead, leaving a muddy smudge.  She turns around and suddenly seems to remember that the camera is on. She picks it up and mutters softly under her breath] Oh good, it’s finally finished loading the updates!  I swear this thing has been slow lately.

 

[Her tone becomes clearer and more chipper as she speaks directly to the camera.] Hello everyone!  This is Officer Rebecca Chambers, medic of the STARS Bravo team.  I’ve noticed that medical attention can be hard to come by here so I thought I’d start a small clinic.  I’d like it to eventually be a free clinic but at the moment I still need payment of some kind.  Most importantly, I need more basic medical supplies.  This includes clean cloth for bandages, clean water, any sort of medicines, isopropyl alcohol, surgical thread and ….I can’t believe I’m saying this… and if there’s anyone out there that can make plants grow faster, I could really use your help.  I had some seeds with me for growing the herbs that are bizarrely effective in healing but it looks like they might take awhile to grow naturally and I don’t have time to wait.
